Grants

There are many grants available to businesses that offer apprenticeships in the trades. These grants can help offset the costs of training and wages, and can provide other resources to support apprenticeship programs.

Some of the most common grants available include:

Federal grants

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) offers a variety of grants to support apprenticeship programs, including the Registered Apprenticeship Expansion and Innovation Grant Program and the Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program. Visit ApprenticeshipUSA site for more information.

State grants

Many states also offer grants to support apprenticeship programs. The specific programs and eligibility requirements vary from state to state. Here are links to grant information for the largest US States:

Workforce Development Board grants

The US has 593 Workforce Development Boards (WDB) or Workforce Investment Boards (WIB) with Federal money to assist businesses with training apprentices and filing for grants.  Contact your local WDB or WIB office for more information.
